Our Ceramics are made from Earthenware which is by far, the most popular type of clay used in the ceramic world today.
We use a white and terracota clay for slip casting, white being more pristine and allowing the colour glazes to be shown off to their best advantage.
Terracota is wonderful to use on embossed items with texture, as the terracota detail shows through the glazes and gives it a rustic appeal, very French style for those Francophiles.
Most glazed Earthenware is dishwasher and microwave proof. It is advised that you do not soak your earthenware in water as this can affect the glaze.
As Earthenware is a softer clay then the likes of stoneware or bone china etc, it must be handled with care. Having said this, we have our ceramics from the 1990’s, when we first started and still use them today.
Please note that orders placed can take up to 4 to 6 weeks to be completed, depending on the size of the order and of course dependent on how things come out of the kiln.
